Cut, Make, and Trim
CMT is the route where we CUT the fabric out for you using the graded patterns provided. We MAKE the styles using the fabric and trims provided, at production we manufacture the garments in stages. This is where the machinists will do one seam at a time on the garments. Once the garments are finished, this is the stage where the loose threads on the garments are TRIMMED.In order for us to do CMT productions we will need the graded patterns, finished samples, fabrics and trims. When manufacturing more technical garments a tech pack is always helpful to us and our team.
THE STAGES OF CMT:
STAGE ONE
CUT
The first step will be laying the fabrics layer by layer on the cutting table. The amount of layers is dependant on the number of garments per style. Once all of the layers have are on the table, the pattern pieces are then placed on top following the grain line marked on the pattern. During the Pattern Cutting process, The fabric cutter will read all relevant information on the pattern. The fabric cutter places the patterns on the fabric in the most economic way possible to save fabric. If you provide us with a lay plan we will follow your lay plan. They will notch the patterns following any notches marked on the pattern and drill hole any holes existing on the patterns. All of the notches and drill markings will help the machinists to sew the garments efficiently.
STAGE TWO
MAKE
Once the fabric has been cut out it is then given to the machinists to start sewing. Each seam on the garment is done in stages to speed up the manufacturing process. Making each garment individually is not efficient and will take longer. Your brand labels, care labels are inserted to the seams at this stage.
STAGE THREE
TRIM
Once the garments are constructed and finished. The final stage is trimming any loose threads and checking through the garments before they are packaged ready for customer collection. This is also the stage where any swing tags can be installed on the garments.

CMT
CMT is a preferred option for brands that are producing smaller units per style. When using CMT, it is important to understand what is included and what isn't. At CMT we do not provided any trims and fabric in the price per unit. We can still supply fabric and trims but you will need to pay for them separately. We charge an additional cost of installing any swing tags, packaging etc.
